The producer

Who are they?

Founded in 1870 in Penafiel by Manoel Pedro Guedes, Aveleda is a family estate deeply connected to Vinho Verde. Five generations later, the family continues to develop the estate while maintaining a strong link to local grape varieties, the freshness of wines from northern Portugal and the identity of Quinta da Aveleda. The house is now active in several regions of the country, but its name remains closely associated with Vinho Verde and with approachable, aromatic whites that are easy to discover.

Why we follow them.

Because Aveleda shows that a simple, approachable wine can still tell the story of a place. We like how they make Vinho Verde easy to discover without losing the connection to local grape varieties, freshness and the identity of northern Portugal.
