Who are they?
Founded in 1877 in Pontassieve by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, the house became one of the best-known names in Tuscan wine. Its history is intimately linked to Chianti and Sangiovese, but Ruffino today works across several of the region's great territories, from Chianti Classico to Montalcino and Bolgheri. The house combines a very classical heritage with contemporary, large-scale production, making it an excellent entry point for understanding the major red styles of Tuscany. Accessible cuvées like the Chianti sit alongside more ambitious wines from emblematic estates and appellations.
