The producer

Who are they?

Founded in 1991, the vineyard was taken over in 2000 by Véronique Hupin and Michael Marler. In Farnham, they farm a little over four hectares of vines and have helped make biodynamics an important reference in Quebec's wine landscape. Their approach favors hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentations and patient ageing, with very little cellar intervention.

Their approach

What sets them apart.

01

Parcels and soils

Each cuvée starts from a careful reading of the parcel, the vines' age and the soils, with multiple vinifications that preserve their differences.

02

Organic and biodynamic

The estate farms organically and biodynamically, paying particular attention to soil life and the balance of the vine.

03

Minimal intervention

Hand harvesting, spontaneous fermentations, ageing on the lees, and bottlings without filtration or without added sulphite on several cuvées define a minimal-intervention approach.

Why we follow them.

Because Les Pervenches are among the domaines that help explain how Quebec wine has moved up a level: parcel-by-parcel work, exacting viticulture, precise winemaking and a strong identity that doesn't try to imitate elsewhere.
