Located in eastern Austria on the Hungarian border, Burgenland is one of the warmest wine regions in the country. Lake Neusiedl plays an important role in its climate and helps create conditions particularly favourable to the vine. The region produces reds, whites and sweet wines, and has also become an important area for a new generation of estates working organically or biodynamically and practicing low-intervention winemaking.
